TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:
I enjoy figuring out how my students learn and seeing that moment when it all clicks! It might take some patience, but patience itself is good to learn. My main goal is to give my students an outlet where they can go whether they are happy, sad, mad or just need to practice!! I focus on good sight reading and technique. I strive to give them the tools they need to continue on after high-school or to learn another instrument.
MY BACKGROUND:
Both my parents were amazing teachers. I have loved teaching since I was a little girl playing school! I started piano lessons when I was 8 years old. I have been a self-employed piano teacher since 1992. I studied under Carolyn Hagner at Northern Kentucky University with a focus on piano pedagogy. I worked for Baldwin teaching group lessons in college and later taught piano lessons for the NKU Preparatory Department as well.
WHEN IāM NOT TEACHING:
I reside in Florence with my husband. We have two grown sons, 2 little dogs and 2 cats. We are crazy happy to have our first grandchild in our life & his beautiful mother. We enjoy all the time we get with our sons & family. I read as much as I breathe & I enjoy projects at our house.
